HOW TO MEASURE YOUR SHALWAR KAMEEZ/KURTA SIZE?

INDIAN WEAR FOR LADIES AND MEN

CHEST MEASUREMENT:

Pass the tape around the fullest part of your chest.

WAIST:

Ladies don't suck in your stomach.  Breathe naturally and measure right around your waist.

HIP:

Measure the fullest part of your hips.

SHOULDER:

One apex of shoulder right across your neck to the other

SLEEVE:

Bend your elbows slightly and measure from where you ended at the apex and straight down to your desired sleeve length

 ARMHOLE:

Measure right around your elbow but bend and unbend the elbow passing the tape measure in a comfortable loop so that you are sure your garment can be slipped through the arm

WRIST:

Same as armhole

KAMEEZ OR KURTA LENGTH:

Measure from the apex of the shoulder straight down to the desired length


These measurements can be used as a guide for custom made outfits but can also help when selecting the ready made garments.  It should be noted that most of the pants for the Shalwar Kameez have draw strings and therefore fit in most cases but you should also check hip measurements to make sure.
